Miley Cyrus's performance at the VMA on Sunday has been the talk of every social media. I myself couldn't hold myself but react to it. Described by most as raunchy, highly sexual, offensive, provocative, etc, who thought she would steal the show and crown from the "Queen of Obscene", Lady Gaga, at the VMA's? With hair done like little shaped horns,Nude Vinyl Bikini, with the foam finger prop making all rude/crude gestures imaginable and loads of twerking. 

Moreso, what is it with her tongue always out , poked or flapping all the time.. or should I say wagging? Is this something her doctor.... infact, any doctor could fix? (where has Hannah Montana gone to?)

LOL..

Miley's performance so far has riled up negative reactions from social medias, Robin Thicke"s Mum, Will Smith's family ( Oh, you should see the look on their faces, simply priceless!)

Don't worry, they were not the only people left in a trance..

......even Parents Television Council, other liberal minded celebs... and some of you, I bet. Good to know there are liberal minded, conservative, sane Hollywood celebrities out there.

I guess someone just popped Mariah and Nick's show biz dream for their kids...

 The foam finger would never be looked the same again after this..(sigh!)

I call this a case of the "Miley Hangover"

...Maybe all we need do is engrave a pic of Hannah Montanna  to remind us and give some the mental healing they need.

According to Robin Thicke's Mum, as she expressed her shock and disappointment, she just couldn't understand what Miley was trying to do. She revealed :

"I wasn't expecting her to be putting her butt that close to my son"

She further said, and I quote: "It's not that i saw it once, it's that i can never un-see it!"

One may ask, "where were her parents or in all of this?".. or her mum? Well, Voila!.

Mum would probably take her daughter to DISNEY WORLD after this!

Anyways, She wanted publicity and she got it...but is bad publicity good publicity?

It's the Boyfriend Jeans, it's the Pants ( cropped, flannel, bootleg, pencil, ripped, boho, etc). "We" can wear the pants, and by "We", i mean "Women". I love the boyfriend jean trend and also the boyfriend jackets, (you can wear this and still be feminine and chic.. its a comfy and laid back look too). Ahah! you know this saying that goes: "what a man can do, a woman can do better", well.. this trend is IT!... but in my own words ( please don't laugh) i'd simply say:

"What a Man can wear, a Woman can wear better"

The Men are doing it, And we are doing it better, rocking it in every classy, sassy, sexy, dope way! ( So can we safely say "we run the world" in this pants/jean thing? )  Anyways, thanks to the Male race for this special gift, Lol.  Sadly I don't think the ladies reciprocated this gift/gesture, because you don't 'normally' see a guy wear a dress or skirt (and feel absolutely comfy and at home with it).... Ok, let's forget Scotland and Sexuality.

Burna Boy Arrested For Assaulting Silverbird's Sales Ticket Girl

According to a reliable source,  Burna Boy slapped, poured a drink on & humiliated a young girl that sells movie tickets at Silverbird Cinema, Port Harcourt on Saturday the 24th of August, 2013 and this situation had him arrested briefly by the police ( this was supposedly after his show at Winebar, Port Harcourt  where Dbanj and Phyno where Guest Artists)..... quite sad and a bubble buster for me, the info and incident just seems weird and disappointing. I'm a huge fan of Burna boy (absolutely love his vocals... and swags), so the gist seems sorta strange and hilarious... I was even supposed to attend his show but lazied out last minute ( Regretfully ). 

According to an eye witness, the singer had a misunderstanding with the girl and before anyone could intervene, he had slapped the poor girl and went on  to pour his drinks on her.  A case of a bad day it was said, so he went to Silverbird for a chill and that was where the heat went down... but come on, as an Icon on any level, a Globacom ambassador, an artist and a Music Gandhi to some ( If there was anything like that, lol ) , or who others look up to, was that the ideal thing to do?

WHO IS TEMI DOLLFACE?

"Who is Temi DollFace?", Some of you might be wondering. I was once in your shoes until I

saw her video and was wow'd by it!

Self-styled singer/songwriter, composer,performer, producer, Temi Dollface, real name, Temi Philebosie, is a style icon to watch both in the fashion and entertainment industry. She describes her sound as "drama-soul" ( which is a first of its kind ) and her music just like her style, doesn't fit into any particular genre but a combo of all she's influenced by, such as, Stevie Wonder, Fela Kuti, James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald,  Pharell Williams, Missy Elliot etc. Her first song was written at the age of 7, while teaching herself how to play instruments.

She has interest in the art, music and styling. Temi believes styling is essential in every music and photoshoot and shows this in her work and personal style.

Now let me get to the main gist. She newly released her video "Pata Pata" which i'd say was awesome! ( if you are a fan of Janelle Monae or Lily Allen you'd love this). In this video, she describes an inevitable end of an unsatisfying relationship by saying: "Cut off your wahala sharp sharp". She portrays this idea in a very interesting way by using commercial gadgets like knives, shampoo, vacuum. Instead of these products to do the usuals which we all know them for, such as the shampoo, nails or curling of hair which makes one more appealing to their partners or the vacuum used for household cleaning, her products do the opposite, they are used to get rid of a man rather than keeping him (how metaphorical, wish it was that easy, lol), and the vacuum cleaner which she called the "Patavac" is used instead to suck up "bad vibes".

I personally love the retro styling ( of the 80's), the concept, makeup and the best part is, its fun-filled and color-popping. The fashion pieces were clearly on point!.. this is one of the essentials I look out for in a video or an entertainment piece ( apart from lyrical content ). The graphic was also touche, I loved the captions written in pidgin, fonts, and the color palettes used throughout the video, from the dresses down to the props.

Jay-Z Tried Cheating on Beyonce?

Sometimes you see a beautiful woman and you say "who would ever cheat on this lady? She's got it all!", but sadly that's not always the case. This gist about Jay-Z cheating on Beyonce only made me wonder.

Female up-coming rapper 'LIV' ( picture above) claims that Jay hit on her and tried to make her his "In-town chick".....*Whoaa!* and this was on a radio interview. Her allegations  first came to light in a lyric on her album release "Invasion 2". Now, I've always been a fan of Bey, admired her talent, strengths and then she's hot, beautiful, successful and the envy of every woman!...and i'm like, "A man getting a girl like that, why in the world would he look at another woman? (although at the back of my mind i'm like: "Hey, men have a tendency to cheat and like they say, "Men are naturally polygamous...blah-blah-blah!"...Bullshit tho!), it very well takes a principled and God-fearing man to stick to his woman.

Well, the female rapper seemingly apologized to Beyonce for the whole "Jay-z drama" and claims she's got nothing but love and respect for Beyonce. When asked what she'd tell Beyonce if given the chance to, she said:

"I would tell Beyonce the drama is unintentional, the respect is real. If you listen to the song, you'll understand why I came out with the story. I'm not sorry, it happened, but I'm going to express my story in my songs. I do apologize for how you feel - I love her and respect her. The reason I didn't go there and pursue something with Jay is because of Beyonce. It's not intentional to hurt her or embarrass her or put her business out there."

But.... You did!!.. 

  I'm just wondering "why do it on air? why not up close or one on one?".. that's my opinion though. She well claims Jay-Z tried to get her digits both times they met, apparently sending his body guard to get her number...blah-blah-blah!

She swears she didn't put the whole shit on her track to out Jay-Z, then what was it for?... Fame or just Publicity Stunt? ( because that seems to be the way they try to boost their career these days)

As  for Jay-Z, Liv says, "I know he's watching and paying attention. I personally  don't have any issues with than i'm starting an invasion movement."

Hmm.. interesting!

"My whole movement is just i'm basically taking hiphop and saying i can make it better", Liv says. "But you have all the artists f**king each other- it's no longer about putting out good music, its about who is f**king who."

Trends We Love!

In the world of fashion, a lot of trend come and go, mostly rotating themselves overtime. Sometimes you see stuffs, fashion do's and outfits our Moms and Pops rocked back then and we thought looked silly come right back, and guess what? we go with it, maybe not all.. but some.

Anyways, below are a couple of trends and style I love. You can never go wrong in them.

STRAPPY SHOES

The ankle strapped heels goes with absolutely everything!.. I myself have become somewhat obsessed with it and thinking of purchasing the ones with the fat ankled metal straps (absolutely gorgeous!).

Whether it's open-toed or covered, this heels goes well with almost any outfit. You can get a wide range of these in different colors from Zara, atmosphere, Manolo Blahnik, H&M etc.

CELINE BAGS

Is it just me or do these bags look like smiley faces? I guess this is one of the reasons I love it in addition to the fact that they serve a wide range of purposes... I got one for myself though, especially as I carry the whole world in my bag, lol. It could also be strapped on, if you like and also comes in smaller purse sizes.

STILETTO NAILS

Rihanna seems to be one of those who made this nails really famous. Lol, to me I call them talons... gorgeous talons, i'd say. I very well love me some good stiletto nails when I see one, most especially because of the absolutely gorgeous designs you can make on them,  Its art... I love art!

KNUCKLE RINGS

They say "Accessorize", these knuckle rings do it for you, you want to go bold or keep it simple? There are lots to choose from. It adds an edge to any outfit.

3D TEES

A little something for the guys.

Oh and did you know about the 3D T-shirt trend? I love this because the prints or animations on them look sooo real, its almost as if they'd be jumping right off the tees. They are available in whatever theme you like.

HOLOGRAPHIC TREND

This trend gives a futuristic look and adds a little shimmer to an outfit. They are gorgeous pieces to have in your wardrobe, they are not just restricted to clothing, you also have them in clutches, iPhone cases, nail polish etc. This trend was famous in the 90's and its back and more refined than ever! There are few things to keep in mind when wearing these pieces. Make sure you keep the rest of your outfit simple, the shiny lustrous look is attention grabbing enough and never wear more than one or two pieces at a time, you don't want to look like a disco ball, do you?

BOYFRIEND JEANS

There are lots of ways to wear this look. You can wear this and still feel girly and sexy. Pair it with a blazer or a simple vest, shirt or tank top, then sum it up with a pair of high heels ( pointees or straps) or even  sneakers, whichever look you feel comfy in and can pull off. Vintage structured, classy or distressed, this jeans takes comfort and style to a whole new level.

LITTLE WHITE DRESS ( LWD)

Every girl or fashionista needs a Little White Dress. Back then it was believed the white dress is to be worn only on that special day when we say "I do", that misconception has changed and voila!.... the streets are loving it, the red carpets are basking in it. This is a cool alternative to the Little Black Dress (LBD). They look fresh, chic and classy on anyone. Pair it with a gold heels and its the ultimate glamour, or wear with a colored heels for that super-fun look. Keep it short, maybe knee length and also go for floaty or skin tight designs, whichever makes you say "Yay" and do not forget to accessorize.

RETRO GLASSES

Oversized, Jeepers peepers, Cat-eyed glasses, Nerd Glasses... you name them, who is not wearing it? From tortoise shell designs, embellished, plain, metal rimmed, etc, you've got a lot to choose from. It completes an outfit.



DUNGAREES

This 90's fashion is back y'all, from classic stonewash denim to cute pinafore dresses and overalls, its on the cat-walks, its on the streets, this is just a step from a playsuit. If dungarees ain't your style then you can try the pinafore dress, looks good too. "How to wear them?", wear with a simple tee, rolled up hems and high heels (either straps, pointees or platforms), or with a short/long sleeve shirt with sneakers and you're good to go.



THE SHIRT DRESS

Belt it, wear it over a pair of tights or without, its girly, its flirty, its simply adorable. Pair with pumps or open-toed sandals.. you can add your own twist to it, wear it with a hat, wide rimmed or a fedora to give it a little edge.. or with strappy heels, minimalistic clutch or shoulder bag.
