BUSINESS TREND: DOLL BUSINESS MEETS AFRICAN FASHION!

There's something about spotting a new trend or idea, especially when it has to do with business. Our Nigerian economy no matter how we would rant, complain and wail about it has prospects. We have youths as well as other entrepreneurs who see something lacking or see a need for a vacuum to be filled and do something about it.

Whatever it is that drives you or you're passionate about could be that "Eureka moment" you've been looking for.

Meet Mr Taofick Okoya, a 43-year-old man who was dismayed years ago when he couldn't find a black doll for his niece. Oh yes, a gap has been spotted in the Nigerian market so he decided to set up his own business.

Taofick Okoya outsourced manufacturing of doll parts to low-cost china, put them all together here in Naija and put in a twist of Traditional Nigerian costumes and attires.. Touche!
What more do we see here?... Now the African child can even embrace "True African Fashion" right from their cradle.

So far he has sold between 6,000 to 9,000 of his "Queens of Africa" and "Naija Princesses" (as fondly called), a month.

Good one I'd say and quite interesting, it would hit home more if these dolls had more African features (eyes, nose and mouth). What do you think?
